Marketplace Seller Fees Reference

What eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, PayPal, and Facebook Marketplace actually charge sellers — and the date we last checked each against the platform's own fee page.

Fees at a glance

These rates are read from the same fee structures the site's calculators compute with, so the table and the calculators cannot disagree.

Seller fee structures by platform
PlatformFee structureCalculator
eBay 13.6% final value fee; $0.40 per order; 1.65% extra international Calculate
Mercari 10% seller fee Calculate
Poshmark $2.95 flat on sales under $15.00; 20% commission Calculate
Facebook Marketplace no fee on local pickup; 10% selling fee on shipped orders; $0.80 minimum Calculate
PayPal 2.99% Goods & Services rate Calculate

A lower fee does not guarantee a better outcome. Demand, sale timing, returns, shipping, payment, and account-specific costs can outweigh the headline rate.

eBay rates by category

eBay does not charge one flat rate. These are the category-level rates the calculator uses.

Verify against the source

Fees change, and a fee page you cannot date is worthless. Before pricing a large batch of inventory, confirm against the platform's own published rates:

Common fee questions

What percentage does eBay take in 2026?

For US sellers without a Store, eBay's published final value fee for most categories is 13.6% of the total sale amount up to $7,500 and 2.35% on the portion above, plus $0.30 for orders of $10 or less or $0.40 for orders over $10. Category, Store, advertising, international, seller-performance, and other fees can differ.

Does Facebook Marketplace charge seller fees?

Meta's current individual-seller policy lists a 10% transaction fee with an $0.80 minimum for shipped Marketplace checkout orders, applied to the item price, buyer-paid shipping, and applicable tax. Local pickup uses a 0% platform-fee assumption, but payment and other costs may apply. Availability and account terms vary, and Meta displays no effective date.

Which platform has the lowest seller fees?

There is no universal answer. Category, order value, shipping, payment method, account type, optional services, and sell-through can change the result. Compare current official terms and use calculator outputs only as estimates from the assumptions entered.

How do I estimate profit after fees?

Subtract the entered item cost, platform and payment fees, shipping, supplies, and other known costs from expected proceeds. Fuel, time, returns, taxes, storage, repairs, and unsold inventory may require separate assumptions.

How often do marketplace seller fees change?

Platforms can change rates, thresholds, categories, and availability at different times. Always confirm against the platform's own current fee page and the terms shown for your account before relying on a calculation.
